Hopkinton Police Incident Log for December 12, 2022

In this weeks police blotter, a driver from New Hampshire had a very bad day, a prisoner borrowed his buddy’s phone, and the snow caused multiple accidents.

ARRESTS

  • On December 7, 24 year old Joshua Adam Hawkes of Candia, New Hampshire was arrested on multiple charges. A detailed description of the incident is below. Mr. Hawkes was arrested on charges of:
    • Leaving a Firearm in Vehicle
    • Leaving the Scene of Property Damage
    • Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle
    • OUI – Liquor over .08%

December 5, 2022

  • Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an erratic driver. A written warning was issued.
  • Officers responded to an accident on South Street. No injuries were reported, and officers assisted with the insurance exchange.
  • Officer LaTour assisted HFD with a fire alarm activation on Patriots Boulevard. No smoke or fire was detected. The second floor alarm had gone off for unknown reasons.

December 6, 2022

  • A Wedgewood Drive caller reported an ongoing parking complaint of construction vehicles blocking the roadway and mailboxes. Officer McKeon responded and checked on the vehicles. After speaking with the construction crew the vehicles were removed.
  • Sergeant Brennan responded to a report of a vehicle stuck under the bridge at the Southborough town line. The vehicle was gone on arrival.
  • A Baker Lane caller reported a vehicle was sitting in her driveway for approximately 15 minutes. Sergeant Brennan responded and the checked the area with a negative find.
  • An Autumn Ridge Road caller reported someone opened a credit card in her name.
  • A Nazneen Circle caller wanted to report check fraud. He deposited a check and his bank advised that it was invalid. Officer Firth took a report.
  • A Cedar Street caller reported two hunters in the State park. Massachusetts Environmental Police were called, and the hunters were in a legal position. The caller was advised.
  • Officer McNeil assisted with a civil dispute.
  • Officers responded to a report of an erratic driver on Main Street. The driver had run through red lights. The operator was checked out and advised of the complaint.

December 7, 2022

  • A Wilson Street caller reported two dogs on the loose. The area was checked with a negative find.
  • Sergeant Brennan assisted with an accident on West Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • Multiple officers responded to a 911 caller reporting a vehicle crashed on West Main Street. The operator had driven through the median and then took off. A second caller reported that the driver had possibly hit a tree and will have heavy front end damage. One officer stopped the vehicle on Pleasant Street while another went to investigate the crash site, finding that the driver appeared to have driven over the barrier and flipped near the I-495 ramp heading toward Upton. Officers followed the Fire Department to the hospital, and the driver was arrested.

December 8, 2022

  • A 911 wireless call reported a vehicle was stopped on Saddle Hill Road and she witnessed two subjects exiting the vehicle and heading up to the neighbors house with flashlights. They then returned to the vehicle and departed. Officers spoke with the caller, who had contacted her neighbor, who believes it was two delivery drivers. All clear.
  • A walk-in reported that his phone was pinging at the Station. His phone was with a prisoner who is his friend.
  • Officer McKeon assisted with a civil dispute on West Main Street. The owner of a property shut off power to his tenant’s residence and refused to turn it back on. The tenant was advised to contact Eversource.
  • Officers responded to a West Main Street caller who reported a subject on his property that was uninvited.
  • Officers assisted HFD with a caller who had locked himself out of his house with his 2 year old son inside. Entry was gained and all was well.
  • Officer Saletnik assisted a Constitution Court resident who reported hitting a parked car. No injuries.

December 9, 2022

  • Officer Saletnik issued a parking warning on Hayward Street.
  • Officer Stewart responded to a rear-end accident on Wood Street. No injuries were reported.
  • A Pleasant Street caller reported an accident with no injuries.
  • Officers responded to a report of a small red pickup that came off the highway and over the grass and “flying” into the Price Chopper parking lot. The vehicle had front-end damage. The area was checked with a negative find.
  • Officers responded to an accident on East Main Street. No injuries were reported.

December 10, 2022

  • A caller reported a dog on the side of Main Street.
  • A walk-in reported her parked vehicle had been hit overnight.
  • Officers responded to a West Main Street call of a deer hit by a vehicle. The animal was dispatched.
  • A Patriots Boulevard caller reported that an animal had gotten into their trash.

December 11, 2022

  • Officers were called to assist the State Patrol. Upon arrival, one suspect was in custody and the situation was clear.
  • Officer Grimley issued an overnight parking violation on Victory Lane.
  • A Pheasant Hill Road caller reported an open door. The door was found unsecured on arrival, the home was checked, and all was clear.
  • Officers assisted the State Patrol with an accident on I-495 N. It was unknown if there were injuries.
  • Officers responded to an accident on East Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • Officers responded to several callers reporting a stuck vehicle on Wood Street.
  • A Chestnut Street caller reported that a car had rear-ended him. No injuries.
  • A 911 caller reported that a truck had hit a cable line on Cedar Street. Eversource was on the scene.
  • DPW reported that a vehicle was hit multiple times. Officer Normandin responded and the vehicle was gone on arrival.
  • A Stoney Brook Road caller reported that her car was skidding and she needed help. The vehicle had left the scene when Officer Normandin arrived.
