Water Problems, LNG Plant Shutdown Likely Caused by Eversource Electric

On October 5, a loud blast and power outage were reported at the Eversource-operated Hopkinton LNG plant. The fire department confirmed an equipment explosion in the adjacent Kinder Morgan control room. At the same time, residents reported strongly discolored water, which traced back to power surges at the Ashland Pumping Station. The incidences led to infrastructure concerns.
