On Tuesday, April 30 at the Framingham District Courthouse, Milford resident Ryan Sweatt was arraigned on murder charges in the killing of Destini Decoff. Through his court-appointed attorney, Mr. Sweatt sought to be released with the condition that he wear a GPS monitoring bracelet, a request the judge quickly denied.

A full account of this morning’s hearing will follow, but as the families for Mr. Sweatt and Ms. Decoff began to file out of the courtroom they began exchanging heated words. Moments later a fight broke out between them. Law enforcement officers, including Hopkinton Lieutenant Scott van Raalten, who was off-duty at the time, moved in quickly to separate the parties.

After the crowd was dispersed, Ms. Decoff’s mother, Tracy, and her Aunt, Dawn Anderson, spoke with members of the media outside. Ms. Anderson, who was involved in the melee, could be seen with blood on her neck.
