The 200 Foundation Announces “Hopkinton Gives Back”

Published on

The 200 Foundation is pleased to announce our latest community impact event, “Hopkinton Gives Back”.  This event is the definition of a grass roots campaign, organized by Hopkinton residents to provide backpacks to local students in need.  This event will also be raising funds to donate scholarships for Hopkinton students to attend Nature’s Classroom.

Candace Rhodes, one of the event organizers, expects this event to be a helpful lesson for children in teaching them how to volunteer to assist others.  “We are excited in that this event is unique where children in our community will be offered the opportunity to fill backpacks while learning about how they are making a direct impact of assisting other children in need”.  Adam Bortolussi, Director of The 200 Foundation, Inc. added, “We are thrilled to partner with our community members and are grateful that Candace and Mark Rhoades have allowed us to host this event at their home.”  Mr. Bortolussi also spoke of the importance of teaching these life skills to children.  “I have a 4-year-old and a 7-year-old, they are both excited to help other kids out, this will be a great hands-on event that will teach lifelong values in making a positive difference in the lives of others”.

“Hopkinton Gives Back” will take place on August 19th between the hours or 11am-4pm at Mark and Candace Rhodes home located at 24 Hidden Brick Road.  The event has a goal of building 2,000 backpacks and supplying at least 10 scholarships to Natures Classroom for Hopkinton Students.  The backpacks will be distributed to local schools in Middlesex and Worcester County.  For more information, please contact the Foundation at their website and or our Facebook page.
