Hopkinton PD’s zany week: A missing wife turns up at the library (Spoiler: she wasn’t ‘booked’ for anything), a smoke scare turned out to be a dryer’s steamy performance, and a suspicious car saga concluded with an Amazon package exchange. Seat belt squabbles and deceased deer in the reservoir also kept the officers on their toes!

March 4

  • Officer Diaz responded to a report of a possible brush fire at a construction site off of Cedar St.
  • The state police were contacted regarding an accident on I-495N.
  • Walk-in reported stolen property from a business.
  • 911 caller reported a vehicle parked, blocking access to the high school.
  • A man called reporting his wife had been missing for two hours with her car in the driveway. Eventually, she was found at the library.

March 5

  • Officer Grimley checks on a vehicle parked a garage with their headlights on.
  • Officers responded to a report of multiple doors and windows open of a business. The building was investigated and clear.
  • Caller reported possible telephone scammers representing the census bureau. The caller was advised of ways to protect themselves from future fraud. The incident was logged.
  • Caller reported a CO alarm sounded, possibly due to nearby construction.
  • Officer Ekross checked on a report regarding a broken green light on Main St.
  • Caller reported an erratic operator driving all over the road on Cedar St. The vehicle was going slow and swerving around the road. When officers responded, the occupants explained they were switching seats because the woman could not see well. The issue was resolved.

March 6

  • Caller reported smoke coming from the side of their house and bushes. Officer Ziniti responded and found the smoke was coming from the dryer vent.
  • Officer Saletnik received a report of someone entered a house on Main St claiming to be a solicitor.

March 7

  • Caller reported a traffic light on Grove St was not cycling properly.
  • Walk-in came in with questions on reinstating a restraining order. They were advised to see the courts for further information.
  • Walk-in reported harassment from an ex-boyfriend.
  • Officer Diaz responded to a traffic complaint on West Elm St.
  • A 911 caller reported suspicious vehicles parked on her street.

March 8

  • Caller reported trees on wires on Auciello Dr. Eversource was notified.
  • Walk-in reported an accident without damage. The other operator involved came in after explaining the first person hit him.
  • Caller reported an elderly man walking toward Upton on Downey St and was concerned for him. He appeared to be disoriented.
  • Officer McNeil left a message with DPW regarding stop signs that needed to be fixed.
  • Officers assist an individual walking into the woods to squat. The person was given a courtesy transport.

March 9

  • Walk-in reported a dead deer floating in the water by the water treatment plant at the state park.
  • Caller reported a man appearing to be aggressive toward a child. When authorities arrived, the man informed them that the child was being defiant in putting on his seat belt, but all was okay.
  • Caller reported two suspicious looking people, possibly solicitors.
  • Hartford, Connecticut police request a notification in regards to an owner of a vehicle evading in their city.
  • Caller reported he was hit on Chestnut St by a vehicle honking, flashing lights, and driving full speed.
  • Officers DeBoer, Diaz, and Ekross responded to a report by someone who thought there was something in their garage. The garage was clear.
  • Holliston PD received a report of an erratic operator and requested Hopkinton PD check their side of North Mill St.

March 10

  • Stoughton PD called concerning a girl who ran away from her parents with her boyfriend that lives in Hopkinton. Officer Diaz checked on the location but did not find the girl.
  • 911 caller reported a road rage incident. The caller identified a minor dent to their vehicle where the suspect struck him with an object he threw.
  • Caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked outside his house for over an hour on Walcott Valley Dr. Officer Walker responded and confirmed it was two Amazon drivers exchanging packages.
  • Caller reported a possible assault case from the past. The caller was advised to follow up with Framingham courts.
