Hopkinton Police Incident Log for April 3, 2023

One arrest, a school bus and tractor trailer have a near-miss, and some rowdy teens doing donuts on Appaloosa Circle headline this edition of the police blotter.

ARRESTS:

  • On March 27, Lauren Patterson of North Attleboro, MA was arrested on charges of:
    • Resisting Arrest
    • Failing to Signal
    • Low-speed Vehicle Violation
    • OUI Liquor over .08%, 2nd Offense

March 20, 2023:

  • A caller reported hearing a loud bang on her door on Oakhurst Road. She stated that she did not see anyone on her property. Multiple officers responded and spoke with the caller. All was good.

March 21 2023

  • A walk-in reported that they had been receiving threatening texts and calls all day. A report was taken.
  • A caller reported that they had found bones while working on the bullpen on Hayden Rowe Street. The bones were determined to be animal remains.
  • A dog was reported running down the middle of Wood Street. Officer Beloin reported.
  • A caller reported that a tire change was occurring in a dangerous location on West Main Street. The party could not get the lug nuts off and reported that they would return tomorrow. The State Police were notified.

March 22, 2023

  • Officer Ekross spoke with a party regarding a possible fraud case. A report was taken.
  • Officer Santoro spoke to a group of youths on Grove Street regarding where to ride their bicycles. They were told to ride them on the sidewalk only.
  • A caller reported an ongoing complaint of speeding vehicles leaving from a work zone on Chamberlain Street. Officer Salentik responded.
  • A walk-in reported unemployment fraud.
  • Officer LaTour responded to a motor vehicle accident on West Main Street. Papers were exchanged between the cars.
  • A 911 caller reported a road rage incident with a possible drunk male who took off northbound on Route 85. Multiple officers responded and checked the area with a negative find.
  • Milford Police Department reported an erratic operator coming toward Hopkinton via South Street. The area was checked by multiple officers with a negative find.
  • An East Main Street caller reported a truck on her property that she wanted removed. Officer Salentik assisted.
  • An erratic operator was reported traveling toward the center of town from Wilson Street. A verbal warning was given for marked lanes violation. There were no signs of impairment.

March 23, 2023

  • A report about a suspicious vehicle on Saddle Hill Road came in. Multiple officers responded and checked the vehicle. They were doing work in the area.
  • A disabled motor vehicle was reported on South Street. The vehicle was removed.
  • Multiple officers responded to a report of an erratic vehicle that was all over the road. A check was completed. All was good.

March 24, 2023

  • A vehicle with its hazards on was reported on the side of West Main Street. Multiple officers responded. The party was all set and was just lost and looking for directions.
  • A caller reported a disabled motor vehicle on South Mill Street that they believed had crashed into a stone wall. Officer Beloin responded and was standing by to wait for the tow truck. There was property damage to the stone wall.
  • A disabled motor vehicle was moved out of the roadway on Claflin Street.
  • Multiple callers reported a child riding around on a dirt bike popping wheelies. Officer Beloin spoke with the child and their parents.
  • A caller reported a female screaming for help on Wood Street. The female had stepped out of one vehicle and into a white vehicle which drove off toward Westborough. The unoccupied vehicle was not involved. Officer LaTour responded and discovered the vehicle was gone upon arrival.

March 25, 2023

  • A walk-in reported a deer strike. The area was then checked with a negative find.
  • Officer Grimley checked on vehicles with hazards on. The party was having difficulty finding the Marathon starting line.
  • A walk-in reported identity theft. Sergeant Brennan assisted.
  • A report was faxed over regarding a dog bite. The information was forwarded to Animal Control.
  • A caller reported a vehicle off the road and in a tree on Lumber Street. Multiple officers responded and requested a tow truck.
  • A caller reported that a teenager was walking down Cedar Street and they seemed out of place. Officer Beloin was with the male party just over the Southborough town line. The older male was walking to a friends’ house and was all set.

March 26, 2023

  • Sergeant Schofield checked on a reported vehicle with headlights on but was unoccupied on West Elm Street. The area was checked with a negative find.

March 27, 2023

  • A report was taken about a past theft of power tools on Cole Drive.
  • A motor vehicle accident was reported on School Street. Multiple officers responded and no personal injuries were reported.
  • A walk-in requested to speak with an officer about a possible conviction. Advice was given.
  • A 911 call came from a very upset male who was yelling at nursing staff on West Main Street. Multiple officers responded, and it was deemed to be a minor disagreement. The matter was resolved.
  • Advice was given by Officer Ekross about credit card fraud and ID theft.
  • A party reported recovering a lost wallet.
  • Multiple officers responded to a State Police report about a male party that was being threatened. The area was checked with a negative find and nearby gas stations were being checked.
  • A disabled motor vehicle was reported on West Main Street. Sergeant O’Neill assisted.

March 28, 2023

  • A motor vehicle accident was reported on West Main Street. Officer Ekross responded and took a crash report. No personal injuries were reported.
  • The Sherriff’s Department requested Animal Control to respond for assistance with a dog removal during a service in Pinecrest Village. Animal Control was contacted and was to be responding.
  • Officer Ekross came upon a disabled semi truck on Wood Street. The truck was being assisted and was on its way. All was okay.
  • A motor vehicle was reported being broken into on Wood Street. A report was taken.
  • A party reported that they had been receiving threatening texts. Officer Normandin assisted and took a report.
  • Multiple officers responded to a report of a male causing disturbance at Pinecrest Village. He had been previously evicted earlier.
  • A Connelly Hill Road male reported being blackmailed.

March 29, 2023

  • Multiple officers checked on a female sleeping in a car in North Legacy Farms. The officers spoke with the female and all was okay.
  • A caller stated that he was locked out of his residence in Pinecrest Village and wanted to know where his dogs and belongings were. Information was given to the party as to where the belongings and dogs were.
  • A Davis Road caller stated that they heard a knock on their door in the middle of the night. It was an unknown person. Officer Ekross spoke with the party and they were advised to call if it happened again.
  • A walk-in reported that she possibly gave personal information in a scam job interview. Officer Ekross spoke with the party and took a report.
  • A party on West Main Street reported that a dog had passed away during surgery and the owner was being aggressive. The party went on their way.
  • Multiple officers responded to a disabled motor vehicle in the middle of the road on West Main Street. A tow truck was on scene.

March 30, 2023

  • Officer Grimley checked on a bus on Hayden Rowe Street that appeared to have their lights on. All was good.
  • A caller reported an on-going vehicle on Cedar Street that ran a stop sign and was tailgating other vehicles. Sergeant Burchard responded and spoke with the owner of the vehicle. the operator said that would cease their behavior.
  • Multiple officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Ash Street involving a tractor trailer unit and a school bus. No contact was made between the vehicles but the bus clipped a pole, resulting in minor damage. No personal injuries were reported.
  • A caller reported that they saw someone going through their trash and taking property on Davis Road. Sergeant Burchard reported that he would be checking with the housing authority and spoke with all that were involved. A report was taken.
  • A caller was concerned for a man try to hitchhike on Erika Drive. Officer Normandin responded and checked the area with a negative find.
  • A caller filed a complaint about a vehicle doing donuts on Appaloosa Circle. Sergeant Brennan responded and spoke with the parents on-scene and reported that the youths would cease behavior.
  • A caller reported a utility vehicle parked in the roadway on Cedar Street causing a hazard. Sergeant Burchard responded and checked and spoke with the crew, who reported that they would not be there for long.
  • An anonymous caller wanted a complaint logged about an aggressive driver on West Main Street. The caller reported that he was almost sideswiped and the vehicle was following too close. The caller stated that he had crossed into Upton and the vehicle was then operating properly. The caller wanted the incident logged for future reference.
  • A walk-in reported that they had picked up a chainsaw from the middle of the road that had fallen out of a white car. Officer Beloin assisted with taking the chainsaw from the party and logging it as found property.
  • A caller reported an erratic operator on Hayden Rowe Street that was passing vehicles. The area was checked with a negative find.
  • A walk-in reported someone had stolen tools out of his brother in-laws’ garage. Officer LaTour assisted the party and took a report.
  • A motor vehicle hit and run was reported on Walcott Valley Drive. There was minor damage and no personal injuries reported. Multiple officers assisted.

March 31, 2023

  • Sergeant Schofield reported two vehicles parked the wrong way on Claflin Place, a one-way street.
  • A caller reported an erratic officer headed towards Milford via 495. Officer LaTour checked the area.
  • A young male was reportedly operating a motor vehicle on Walcott Valley Drive.
  • A West Main Street caller reported that he had gotten locked in a room while in a wheelchair. Officer Diaz responded, and the caller called back to say that someone had unlocked the door for him. Officer Diaz was to still check in with the party.

April 1, 2023

  • A walk-in reported that a someone had hit their car ran in the High School parking lot. Sergeant Brennan took a crash report.
  • A caller reported that she lost her license.
  • Officer Ekross spoke with a party about possible fraud. Since the party was from Webster, they were advised to speak to their local PD and stop making financial transactions to the other party.
  • A license plate found at Alltown Fresh was dropped off.
  • Multiple officers responded to a report about a vehicle that had been parked near a trail on Pond Street for quite some time. The party wanted the car checked. The vehicle owner was found walking his dog and would be returning to his car shortly.

April 2, 2023

  • A black wallet, keys and cash were found and delivered to the owner on Equestrian Drive by Officer McKeon. The items had been missing for weeks.
  • Officer Ekross assisted a disabled motor vehicle on East Main Street. The vehicle was on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck.
  • A caller reported a disabled motor vehicle on West Main Street. Officer McKeon responded, and the vehicle was gone upon arrival.
  • A caller reported about 8 teens climbing on the building equipment behind the school on Ash Street. Officer Beloin responded and reported that she spoke with them. All was okay.
  • Multiple officers responded to a report from a caller about 5 youths going through the equipment shed at the High School track. The officers reported that they were just kids on the track team.
  • A caller reported a lost dog on West Elm Street. A passerby knew who the dog belonged to and would be returning it.
  • A security team on South Street reported two dirt bikers riding on their property. Multiple officers responded and checked the area with a negative find.
  • A 911 caller reported that he’d returned home to discover he had been broken into. He noticed some items missing. Multiple officers responded and took a report.
