Rose Crettien passes away at 70

Rose Crettien, 74, of Hopkinton, MA, passed away on August 25th, surrounded by her loving family after a decade-long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born on October 6th, 1949, in Winthrop, MA, to the late Frances Kanegis and Irving Steinberg.

Rose is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Philippe Crettien; her daughter, Chloe Crettien, of Portland, ME; her son, Miles Crettien, his wife, Jennifer, and their son, Elijah, of Kingston, NY. She is also survived by her sister, Lynda “Marla” Miller, and her brother-in-law, Andy Miller, of Framingham, MA.

Rose was a passionate and talented educator, cook, and gardener who deeply respected all living things. Known for her quick wit and infectious humor, she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

A public service will be held on Saturday, September 7th, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton, MA.

  1. My sincere sympathies. I worked with this lovely, witty lady at Westons for 5 years and always enjoyed talking with her. So sorry for your loss. Bev Gould
