  1. Oh Mrs. Clover! With motherly patience and understanding, mixed just right with structure and firmness, she prepared generations of Hopkinton’s little ones to enter grade school, giving them the needed social and academic skills. As I understand it, she began the Twin Spruce Kindergarten back when Hopkinton did not offer kindergarten, later switching to pre-school. Both of our daughters went to “Mrs. Clover’s”, with happy memories of her warm welcome and her sun-filled classroom. Our youngest was in her last class (1998) and parents held a farewell party at St. John’s. They gathered school photos from many years of her Twin Spruce students, and when the photos were displayed on a paper roll, the roll stretched completely across St. John’s hall! In the library you will find the Clover Collection of books, donated to honor her 40 years of dedication to the children of Hopkinton. May she rest in peace, with our gratitude for a job well done.
