Hop Cops make Cocaine Bust

Published on

On June 9, Hopkinton police stopped a car that was driving erratically on West Main Street. Calvin Tweedy Hodge, Jr. of Whitinsville was arrested for OUI, negligent operation of a vehicle and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Three days later officers obtained a search warrant for Mr. Hodge’s Jeep. Upon entry, they discovered a backpack in the rear seat and inside the backpack they found a knotted bag containing 45 grams of cocaine. This brought the total amount of cocaine discovered to 57 grams.

In Massachusetts, any amount of cocaine weighing more than 18 grams is considered trafficking. Hopkinton Police will request that the charging documents be amended to reflect this fact.
