D’Alleva to hand off Hometown Hospitality

Published on

Beth D’Alleva, who has owned Hometown Hospitality for more than ten years, has decided to make a change, handing the business to Hopkinton resident Erica Marder.

Hometown Hospitality is a personal welcome service that introduces new residents to the community and connects our new neighbors to local businesses, services, non-profits and professionals. The model is similar to the Welcome Wagon, which was founded in 1928, and by the 1950’s was a well-known service in many American communities.

In a letter to HopNews, D’Alleva expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with small business, nonprofits, civic organizations, and the more than 5,500 new residents of Hopkinton, Holliston and Southborough.

‘Connecting Residents to Their Community’ has been a rewarding adventure that exceeded my wildest expectations and I thank you for your role in that,” wrote D’Alleva.

D’Alleva also recognized the support she received during COVID. “With your participation, we put more than $250,000 into our local economy that difficult first year. I hope everyone continues to support our brick and mortar shops and other small businesses.

D’Alleva concluded her letter by saying she plans to stay in town, and will be on hand to assist Ms. Marder with the transition.
