On Monday, April 15, 33-year-old Ethiopian long-distance runner Sisay Lemma was the top Men’s finisher in the 128th Boston Marathon, with an official time of 2:06:17.
Lemma has won several marathons, including the 2023 Valencia Marathon, where he set a course record with a time of 2:01:48. Lemma also won the 2021 London Marathon and the 2015 Frankfurt Marathon.
Just behind Lemma was Kenyan Hellen Obiri, who became the first woman to win Boston two years in a row since 2005. Obiri finished with an official time of 2:22:37, holding off her fellow countrywoman Sharon Lokedi, who completed the race just 8 seconds later.
