Robert M. Parent, beloved husband of Cecilia Malinowski Parent for 67 years, passed away at the age of 90 at his home in Holliston after a period of declining health. He was born to the late Louis and Carmen Murray Parent in Fort Benning, GA.
Bob grew up in Odenton, MD, and graduated from Calvert Hall College High School in 1951. After high school, he went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola University in MD. He worked as a Vice President for Honeywell and then served as Director for the Conference Board in New York. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having attained the rank of Lieutenant.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by three daughters: Susan Frechette and her husband Chris of Gaithersburg, MD, Carol Gebhardt and her husband Steve of Westminster, MD, and Nancy Mayo of Holliston. He also leaves nine grandchildren: Elizabeth, Anna, Samantha, Sean, Olivia, Jake, Zach, Katie, and Ray, and four great-grandchildren: Adelaide, Colton, Parker, and Riley. His son-in-law, Scott Mayo, predeceased Bob.
Bob was an avid tennis player and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was never at a loss for sound advice and sharing his countless ideas. Bob’s highest priorities were faith in God and love for his wife and family.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Callanan Cronin Funeral Home, Hopkinton, are private and at the family’s convenience. Instead of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Odenton Heritage Society in Odenton, Maryland.
