Ride Along in the Dust & Rust Rally

Published on

On April 15, hundreds of veterans, first responders, motorcycle enthusiasts and supporters gathered at The Garrison Speed Shop for the first annual Dust & Rust Guerrilla Rally. The Garrison is a place where veterans and first responders go to work on their motorcycles, learn critical life skills, and be surrounded by people who understand the challenges of adjusting to civilian life after the service.

While the bikes were staged outside, inside The Garrison was a carnival-like atmosphere, filled with vendors, games for kids, a raffle and a silent auction. Also on display was a collection of beautiful custom motorcyles.

The weather couldn’t have been better for the riders. The excitement was palpable as they fired up their engines and the air filled with exhaust. The towns of Hopkinton, Milford, Auburn, Medway, Southborough and Upton provided police escorts who stopped traffic at intersections to allow the riders to pass unobstructed.

Garrison co-founder Luke Young was overwhelmed with the turnout and support.

Sergeant McNeil of the Hopkinton PD provided an escort.

Hopkinton watercolorist Mary Holden donated this basket & painting for the silent auction.
