Dear Hopkintonians!
By now hopefully you know the Annual Town Meeting begins Monday, May 1 at 7:00 PM. I write asking your support for one or several articles (in some cases plans do fall through) regarding the purchase of various parcels around Town.
Norman Khumalo, Ken Weismantel and the entire Community Preservation Committee, as well as the Hopkinton Open Space Preservation Commission have been hard at work in a coordinated effort to acquire additional lands to be held in their natural state for the benefit of water, wildlife, and all of us. Over the past several years many have discovered how rejuvenated they are after a walk in the quiet of a natural setting.
Quoting from a BBC news article:
Hopkinton is uniquely blessed with interesting geology, and with individuals who sat down together years ago; the result of their hard work and foresight was the first Open Space Preservation Commission in the Commonwealth.
I ask for your support at Town Meeting.
Thank you!
Ed Harrow, Chair, Hopkinton Open Space Preservation Commission
Thanks to you and the rest of the commissioners for doing such a fantastic job at acquiring open space land. I applaud you efforts even though I am no longer a resident.
Kudos to you and the commission.
