Leadership Academy is a transformative summer program founded and directed by former Hopkinton Middle School teacher Evren Gunduz. Along with his wife Tara, and co-founder Tom Coburn (who was a student of Gunduz’), the team are embarking on their 17th year.

Leadership Academy started as an after-school program at HMS, and by 2012 it had grown into a week-long program hosted at Boston College. Gunduz, who by then had received his Masters in Education from Harvard, quit teaching to focus full-time on the Academy.

Students from around the world descend each year on campus, which this year will be held at Stonehill College.

“There was an immediate improvement in attitude and self awareness. This is the only program that has given my child the tools required to take an in-depth look at himself with unconditional support and free from judgement,” said one parent.

More importantly is what the teens who attend Leadership Academy have to say.

Combining a high energy team-building model with a social emotional learning based curriculum, Leadership Academy teaches teens the art of living with high self worth, maintaining a positive attitude, and achieving perpetual success in all they do today and into their future.

Space is limited, and Leadership Academy registration typically closes within the first two weeks due to demand. Parents who are interested in this program are encouraged to register early.
