On Wednesday, December 6, Hopkinton Select Board Chair Muriel Kramer suffered an apparent stroke while walking with a friend in Boston.
As first reported in the Hopkinton Independent, Kramer’s friend recognized the signs of stroke and call 911. “I got incredibly lucky,” she wrote in an email to the Independent.
Kramer, who is 62, said that she was transported to a nearby hospital within 15-20 minutes and got “exactly the care she needed”.
“While riding in that ambulance unable to communicate for myself on Wednesday evening, I wasn’t thinking about work, or politics or holiday shopping, etc. — none of that truly matters.” Kramer wrote via email. “My thoughts were all on what matters most in this world to me — my family and my faith. I am so fortunate to be home, resting and spending time with my family. This holiday season I wish you peace, health and blessings, and I encourage you to give and receive every hug that presents itself as possible.”
Kramer added that she is now “resting and doing well”.
HopNews encourages well-wishers to send words of support to Ms. Kramer’s email at mkramer@hopkintonma.gov.
I wish her nothing but the best health. I don’t agree with her politics but that doesn’t matter. Get well Muriel.
