Yesterday, professional golfer Keegan Bradley won the BMW Championship at Castle Pines in Castle Rock, Colorado. The champ finished Sunday’s round with an even-par 72, putting him at 12 under for the week.

Bradley, 38, graduated Hopkinton High School in the class of 2004.

It was the second time winning the BMW Classic for Bradley, who also defeated Justin Rose in a playoff in 2018. In that tournament, Bradley entered ranked No. 52 in what was then a 70-man field. For this week’s tournament, Bradley entered No. 50 of a 50-man field, defying his critics and winning in the most improbable fashion.

For this week’s efforts, Bradley will take home a cool $4 million.

In his senior year at Hopkinton High School, Keegan emerged as the Division 2 Massachusetts State Individual Golf Champion and was honored as the Massachusetts Golfer of the Year. He played a pivotal role in leading his Hopkinton team to victory at the Division 2 Massachusetts State Golf Championship in 2004. Despite his impressive list of accolades, he struggled to attract the attention of major college golf programs. In an interview with Last Word on Sports, then-Hopkinton High School golf coach, Dick Bliss, said “Keegan was flying under the radar. If a par 4 was under 350 yards he could think about driving the green, but still, not many big-time college recruiters gave him much of a look.”

In July, Bradley was named U.S. Ryder Cup captain for the 2025 event, which will take place at Bethpage Black in New York. This a significant moment in his career as he is the youngest U.S. captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963.

As a result of yesterday’s win, Bradley moves from No. 50 to No. 4 in the FedExCup Tour Championship August 29 – September 1 in Atlanta, where he will compete against the world’s best for a $25 million prize.
