The Town of Hopkinton awarded the Hopkinton Area Land Trust (HALT) a Boston Marathon Charity Bib for next Spring’s BAA Boston Marathon, and they are looking for a runner who pledges to raise money for HALT in exchange for the Charity Bib.

The Hopkinton Area Land Trust was founded 26 years ago to protect, conserve, and enhance the town’s natural resources and to maintain and improve its quality of life for present and future generations.

HALT is a federal 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.  It is a member of the Land Trust Alliance, a national organization representing thousands of similar land trusts across the country, the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions and the Massachusetts Land Trust Coalition.  It is supported financially by memberships, donations, and grants.

HALT is now in search of runners who are interested in making a bid pledge to obtain our Bib.  A Charity Bib runner need not meet the BAA age-banded qualifying time, nor do they have to have applied for entry into the 2023 Boston Marathon. A Charity Bib runner’s only requirement is that they raise money for the charity that provides the Bib.  The Town of Hopkinton has set a minimum bid amount of $5,000 for runners interested in the Charity Bib.

Interested runners should email Steve Frohbieter, HALT Vice President, with their name, address, phone number, and bid amount at sfrohbieter@hopkintonlandtrust.org. The successful bidder will be required to sign a commitment form for the full amount of their bid pledge.
