AUDITIONS: A Wedding in Deadwoodville (Haunt 2024)

April 7 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

The HCA and Metrowest YMCA are teaming up to create a thrilling creative Halloween experience! Deep in the woods of Hopkinton we will host a HAUNT where visitors will attend a wedding to die for! We are looking for enthusiastic teen and adult actors and crew.

About the event

Nestled deep in the Hopkinton woods, Deadwoodville has been home to the living dead since 1715. Notorious for its grotesque and peculiar citizens, Deadwoodville opens its gates once a year, revealing itself for a fortnight of tours.

This season, we invite you to experience a Deadwoodville wedding. You’ll be captivated as we guide you through our town and participate in the forbidden love between two worlds – the Mortal and the Living Dead. We’re seeking enthusiastic teen and adult actors to audition for select roles.

Auditioners should prepare a two-minute monologue from any piece that shows range or is similar to the character for which they are auditioning.

Performance Times:

Actors need to be available for mini-performances for TBD date in September and for the Haunt performances October 18-20 and October 25-27.

Available Roles:

This year’s storyline is centered around forbidden love between Kitty, a Living Dead resident of Deadwoodville, and Carl, a Mortal. More than sparks fly when Chop, Kitty’s father, learns of their plans and vows revenge on Carl. Join us for an evening tour of the town, where residents prepare for the wedding, complete with musical numbers, oddities, and scares.

Kitty Chop: Female, late teen to early 20’s, from the 1950’s. Kitty died along with the rest of her family in a fatal car accident. Kitty is sweet, naïve, and perky.

Carl Livingston: Male, late teen to early 20’s, Mortal (still living). Carl is madly in love with Kitty. He is a “cool kid” and confident.

Vinny DaFinga: 1920s mobster, male, age 22-40, New York accent. Vinny hustles rings. Over the top, strong personality, very charismatic and outgoing. Vinny died wearing cement shoes.

Pinky DaFinga: 12-15 female, niece of Vinny and his sidekick/partner in crime, NY accent. Pinky died being “squeezed” for information.

Runway Models: Female, ages 16-30, haute couture models, fierce, and cold. Costume sizes range between 2 and 8. NOTE: No monologue is necessary for Runway Model auditioners. We are looking for 12 models.

Note: Auditions for additional cast members will be held in late spring. Check back on the HCA website for updates.
