On Wednesday, November 1 at 6:30 PM, MassWildlife’s Black Bear and Furbearer Biologist Dave Wattles will host a program for residents to learn about eastern coyote biology, how coyotes use suburban areas, and how communities like Hopkinton can take effective steps to coexist with coyotes.
Coyotes in suburban areas pose a multifaceted risk, intertwining concerns related to safety, property damage, and community wellbeing. Their presence threatens human and pet safety through rare but possible attacks and predation, respectively. More importantly, their presence can induce fear and stress among residents. With proper education and safe practices, humans and coyotes can live in harmony.
Dr. Wattles’ presentation is hosted in partnership with the Hopkinton Open Space Preservation Commission.
