LTE: Support of Sandra Irwin for School Committee

Dear Editor,
I am writing in strong support of Sandra Irwin for Hopkinton School Committee.

I first met Sandra about two and a half years ago when my family moved to Hopkinton from a neighboring town in Westchester. Moving to a new community is never easy, especially for children entering a new school district during elementary school. Sandra learned that we had sons in the same grade and immediately reached out to introduce herself and offer support to help my son adjust to his new environment.

That gesture may seem small, but it meant a great deal to our family. Sandra understood how difficult it can be for a child to be the “new kid” at school. Despite balancing the demands of motherhood, volunteer work, and a professional career, she still took the time to ensure another child in the community felt welcomed and included. She wanted my son to have the best possible start in Hopkinton and the opportunity to feel connected from day one.

That experience reflects Sandra’s character

Sandra is someone who is genuinely invested in her community. She pays attention to the people around her and actively seeks ways to support families, students, and neighbors. She understands that strong schools are built not only through academics and budgets, but also through compassion, communication, and community connection.

It would be easy to define Sandra solely by her professional accomplishments or volunteer experience. Yes, she is highly accomplished professionally. Yes, she is an involved and dedicated parent who cares deeply about the educational experience of all Hopkinton students. But what truly sets Sandra apart is her ability to listen thoughtfully, cut through unnecessary noise, and focus on the real issues facing our schools and families today.

Sandra approaches challenges with both empathy and practicality. She understands the importance of maintaining the high standards Hopkinton families value while also working collaboratively to find meaningful solutions that benefit students now and in the future. She is thoughtful, hardworking, approachable, and deeply committed to ensuring all students continue to have access to exceptional opportunities.

Most importantly, Sandra understands that every decision made by the School Committee affects children and families directly. She brings compassion, common sense, and integrity to every conversation. These qualities matter tremendously in local leadership.

I encourage voters to take the time to get to know Sandra Irwin during this election. Beyond campaign signs and headlines, you will find someone who genuinely cares about this community and the students within it. I am confident she will work tirelessly to ensure Hopkinton students continue to thrive.

Sincerely,

Aleksandra Stipanovich
Hopkinton Resident
