Carbone’s Restaurant to Close After 93 Years in Hopkinton

After nearly a century of serving generations of local families, Carbone’s on Cedar Street is expected to close its doors on June 27.

Carbone’s has been a familiar stop for diners since 1933. Over the years, it became more than a place for dinner. It was a gathering spot for family celebrations, quiet weeknight meals, and memories shared across generations.

The closing marks the end of an era for one of Hopkinton’s longest-running businesses. Town Meeting approved the purchase of the Hopkinton portion of the Carbone’s property, but the sale has not yet closed.

For many longtime residents, Carbone’s will be remembered not just for its food, but for its place in the community’s history.
