The grant will help fund the final phase of Baypath’s new animal care and adoption center, which is under construction on Fruit Street in Hopkinton.
New Center
The 8,200-square-foot center is the largest investment in Baypath’s nearly 50-year history, according to the organization.
The facility will include expanded medical and behavioral care space, improved housing for dogs and cats, education and volunteer areas, and new adoption spaces.
Baypath said the center will allow it to serve more than 1,500 animals each year. It will also expand the organization’s outreach, education, and surrender-prevention programs.
“We are incredibly grateful to Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation for believing in this vision,” said Elizabeth Jefferis, Baypath’s executive director. “This generous investment helps us build far more than a new shelter. It helps create a permanent home where animals receive exceptional care, families find lifelong companions, and our community can come together through education, volunteerism, and compassion.”
Baypath Humane Society provides animal adoption and rehoming services, training and behavioral support, volunteer opportunities, humane education, and pet food assistance through community partnerships.
The organization’s current shelter is located at 500 Legacy Farms North in Hopkinton.
