Hopkinton Emergency Fund was established in 2017 in conjunction with our Community Partners: Project Just Because, Hopkinton Youth & Family Services, The Hopkinton Senior Center and St. Vincent de Paul. The Fund was started to address the need to support our neighbors with financial support that these Partners could not offer or cover sufficiently.
Live4Evan, a Hopkinton non-profit, supports families of children with congenital heart disease by providing temporary housing near Boston Children’s Hospital. Founded by Michael and Barbara Girardi after their son Evan’s passing, the organization is recruiting runners for the 2024 Falmouth Road Race. Interested participants should contact Dave Krueger.
To celebrate the Boston Marathon’s 100th start in Hopkinton, the 26.2 Foundation and HCA host the “Winged Foot” Art Exhibition and Auction, featuring 26 artists. The painted feet on display near the start line are up for auction until April 21 to benefit the 26.2 Foundation and HCA. Artworks reflect personal marathon journeys, local charm, global unity, and the event’s significance through creative designs.
The Project Just Because Club at Hopkinton High School is hosting a fundraising Saint Patrick’s Day Walkathon on March 13, from 3-5 p.m. at the HHS Athletic Center. Participants can form teams to walk for donations, with the top fundraisers keeping 20% for a charity of choice. Registration and sponsorship details are available online, with further information obtainable from walkathon coordinators.
Kathy Mazur and Marie Boyle are hosting their sixth annual fashion show on April 8-9 at Central Public House, benefiting ovarian cancer research. Proceeds support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute & Girly Girl P.A.R.T.S. for developing early detection tools. The event emphasizes the significance of early detection for successful treatment. Last year featured Dr. Matulonis, with Swoon as the lead sponsor.
On January 27th, the Hopkinton Girls Varsity Co-op Hockey team will host a fundraiser game at New England Sports Center to support Ovarian Cancer research, with proceeds going to the Dana Farber Institute via the girlygirl P.A.R.T.S. Fans can participate in raffles and purchase baked goods, or donate by contacting Coach Messier.
