Dispatch from Julie: Spring is Wild in Hopkinton

I spent some time outside early yesterday morning, and Hopkinton is brewing with birds and wildlife. I love the spring time!

I caught this beauty on Ash Street yesterday, hanging out with a murder of crows! This is a Turkey Vulture and they are so ecologically important. They were consuming a recently deceased opossum on the road. I’ve waited for years to get one up close on the ground.

Not to be outdone, this river otter and his pals were feasting on crawdads.

Lunch time

Finally, I snapped this Wood Duck drake perched in a tree.

We are blessed to live in such a beautiful place! Spring has sprung and it’s time to get outside, Hopkinton!
