Mile Championships Competition Rules
- Runners can only compete in one event.
- Runners age 39 and under must compete in the Open race corresponding to their sex.
- Runners 40 and over must compete in the Masters race corresponding to their sex and age division.
- The USATF-NE Road Grand Prix Team scoring is based on the total time of the required number of runners in a division; the team with the lowest total time wins.
- In the open, 40+ and 50+ categories for both women and men, five runners are needed to score. In all older age categories (60+, 70+, 80+), three runners are required to score.
- Team scoring: In all USATF-NE Road Grand Prix Races, runners may score in any age category for which they are eligible. Older runners may score in any younger team divisions as well as in their team age division.
- At the 1 Mile Road Championships, Open Teams will be scored based on the top 5 times achieved in either the open or masters races (combined race results). These will be considered net times like at other championship events. In the masters races, older runners can be scored in younger categories, such as a 60-year-old runner scoring on a 40+ team.
- In the Open races, individual places will be determined by gun time.
- In the Master’s races, individual places will be determined by net time.
