On Friday, six Hopkinton athletes signed Letters of Intent. A Letter of Intent (LOI) is a document that a high school athlete signs to indicate their commitment to play a sport at a specific college or university, and it’s a significant part of the college sports recruitment process in the United States. LOI’s play a crucial role in the college sports landscape, providing both a sense of security for the student-athlete and the recruiting institution.
Georgie Clarke, the leading goal scorer on the Girls Varsity soccer team that made a deep run to the state semifinals, committed to play for Boston College. Her teammate, Brooke Birtwistle, signed with Brown University.
Sophia Recupero, a Hopkinton resident who attends Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, signed to play soccer for Duke University next fall.
Camille Perlov, a field hockey standout, committed to Fairfield University.
Senior Charlie Petruney, a multi-sport athlete, committed to play baseball at Saint Anselm College.
Finally, Logan Delponte, an outstanding lacrosse player, signed to play for St. Bonaventure in New York.
