Please allow me to introduce Frank, a gentle giant who is believed to be part Anatolian Shepherd. His kind demeanor belies a past filled with hardship, making his story all the more poignant.
This sweet boy was just under two years old when he was found tied to a fence with no food, his water frozen, and no shelter. He’d been there for days during a recent cold snap. Eventually surrendered to the Wrentham Animal Control, Frank is now in the care of the kind people at Baypath Humane Society, and he’s ready to start a new chapter in his life.
Frank needs a patient and loving family to give him the safety he deserves so he can regain his confidence. Frank is at his best when he feels safe and secure (aren’t we all?). He is extremely lovable, affectionate with those he trusts, and he loves his doggy pals, especially the girls.
He’s food-motivated and has a soft spot for cheese, and he displays his gentle disposition to those lucky enough to meet him. However, certain situations can make him anxious. Frank will need time, patience, and reassurance to reach his full potential. Due to his background and personality, Frank would do best in a mature adult home or one with dog-savvy teens where he can continue to build his confidence.
A quiet atmosphere is crucial for Frank, which rules out city or apartment living. Instead, he hopes to find a calm home, probably with a family that understands dogs and is patient enough to help him on his journey to feeling safe and loved.
Frank’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of how difficult life can be for surrendered animals and the necessity of responsible dog ownership and laws. According to the latest data, almost 6.5 Million Animals Enter Shelters Annually, of which 3.2 million are Dogs and 3.3 million are Cats. Frank’s journey illustrates the profound impact animal shelters have on the lives of vulnerable animals.
If you think you would like to open your heart and home to a dog like Frank, Baypath Humane Society has both adoption and fostering opportunities. For potential adopters, Frank and his rescuer are accepting applications to give him the secure and loving home life he deserves. For those not ready for a lifelong commitment, there is a fostering service available so Frank can have a temporary safe space until his forever family is located.
