From Monday, February 17, through Sunday, February 23, adoption fees will be waived for dogs aged one year and older, giving more dogs the chance to find their perfect match.

HOPKINTON, Mass. – Baypath Humane Society is excited to partner with MSPCA-Angell and fellow MASS Coalition partners for the “Missed Connections” adoption event.

“At Baypath, we see adoption as a matchmaking process,” said Madison Berthold, Marketing Coordinator at Baypath Humane Society. “We take the time to understand each dog’s personality and each adopter’s lifestyle, ensuring the perfect match and setting both the family and the dog up for lifelong success.

Why Now?

Like many shelters across Massachusetts, Baypath has been operating at full capacity, straining resources as the number of dogs needing homes continues to rise due to local surrenders, with the continuous demand for lifesaving transports from our southern rescue partners.

Over the past two years, Baypath has seen an 85% increase in local dog surrenders, many due to housing challenges, financial difficulties, and other life changes affecting pet owners. This increase has led to greater demand for food, medical care, and shelter space, making it more critical than ever to find homes for these animals.

“This event couldn’t come at a better time,” added Berthold. “By waiving adoption fees alongside our partner shelters, we hope to encourage more people to consider adoption and help these wonderful dogs find homes that match their personalities and needs.

Adoption is a lifelong commitment, and our goal is to create lasting, well-matched connections between dogs and adopters.”

During this week-long event, all dogs over the age of one year at Baypath will have their adoption fees waived. However, the standard adoption process still applies to ensure each dog is placed in a home that best fits their needs and lifestyle.
