Hopkinton Garden Club’s Speaker Series Presents “The Garden Tourist’s Hudson River Valley” with Jana Milbocker – Tuesday, January 17, 7:30 p.m. via Zoom*. The event is free and open to the public.

The Hudson River Valley is rich with historic mansions, presidents’ summer retreats, and stunning botanical gardens. Visit Kykuit, Boscobel, Clermont, Stonecrop, the Vanderbilt Estate, the New York Botanical Garden and more in this virtual tour.

Jana Milbocker is the principal of Enchanted Gardens, a lecturer, and garden writer. She published The Garden Tourist: 120 Destination Gardens and Nurseries in the Northeast in 2018. She has a passion for landscape design and horticulture and has been gardening on her 2-acre property in Holliston’s historic district for over 20 years. The garden surrounding her Victorian home features more than 140 varieties of trees and shrubs, perennial gardens, peony and rose beds, water features and shady retreats. Jana is interested in all aspects of design—spatial relationships, the interplay of light and shadow, color theory, texture, proportion and plant combinations. Trained as a graphic designer, Jana brings years of critical design thinking, clarity and cohesiveness to her landscape solutions. Her professional experience includes twenty five years as an art director and designer. Jana holds a BFA from Syracuse University, an MBA from Boston College, and coursework in horticulture and landscape design.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Hopkinton Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the MassCultural Council, a state agency.

* Zoom attendance is open to the public. Non-members who wish to attend, please respond to register@hopkintongardenclub.org and state your interest in attending our January 17 online event. Instructions will be provided in a reply email.
