Call for Entries: “Out of Place” Art on the Center Trail

An Outdoor Art Exhibition on the Center Trail, Hopkinton, MA

We invite artists, creatives, and community groups to submit artwork for “Out of Place,” an outdoor art exhibition that will transform Hopkinton’s scenic Center Trail into a walking gallery this fall.

This year’s theme, “Out of Place,” encourages artists to explore a wide spectrum of interpretations—from the beauty of discovering something unexpected to stories of finding belonging in unexpected spaces, to tributes to a “special place” that anchors or inspires.

Whether your work evokes the surreal, the humorous, the poignant, or the profound, we welcome your unique voice.

Who Can Submit: All

All artists are welcome—professionals, students, emerging creatives, and collaborative community groups. We especially encourage entries from diverse voices and local organizations looking to contribute to a shared project.

Important Dates

• Submission Deadline: Wednesday, August 20
• Installation Dates: Saturday and Sunday, September 20—21, from 1—4p
• Exhibition Dates: September 24th—October 24
• Reception Date: Monday, September 22, 4:30 Artist Walk – 5:30 Reception.
• Deinstallation: Saturday, October 25, 1—4p

Accepted Medium

Artwork must be suitable for outdoor installation and able to withstand New England weather for the duration of the exhibit. All materials should be safe, weather-resistant, and securely installed.

Please include a picture, sketch, or plan for your artwork so that we can determine if it will be viable on the Center Trail.
