This year the parade is organized by the Hopkinton Republican Town Committee (HRTC). Said Jim Miracle, Chair of the HRTC: “We are happy and encouraged that State Representative Arena-DeRosa has accepted our invitation, and we hope that all town residents will come out and celebrate our nation’s birth and participate in the return of this fun family event!”

Mirable noted that “there are rumors that former President and felon Donald Trump may make an appearance, but unfortunately, we don’t expect an appearance by President Joe Biden, as the parade conflicts with his nap time.”

The theme for this year’s parade is “America the Beautiful“. All individuals, families, neighborhoods, businesses and organizations are welcome and encouraged to enter a float or march in the parade.

Entrance Rules

The organizers of this family-friendly event have issued the following rules:

  1. Only tasteful float messages. No hate speech or obscene material will allowed (we’re neighbors, after all).
  2. No water balloons or water hoses, and NO EXCEPTIONS. Squirt guns are for the kids only.
  3. Candy for the kids is allowed.

Awards

At the conclusion of the parade, a panel of three judges will present float awards for:

  • Select Board Award – Most Horrible
  • 1st Place
  • 2nd Place
  • 3rd Place
  • Children’s Award
  • Family Award
  • Most Patriotic
