A portion of Chamberlain Street will be closed on Thursday, October 9, from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M.
The work will involve installing a speed bump across both lanes of travel near 35 Chamberlain Street. This work is being done at the direction of the Planning Board as part of traffic mitigation for the new subdivision constructed at the end of the street. DPW does not typically install speed bumps on public roads.
Traffic details will be in place at the intersection of Angelo Drive and 49 Chamberlain Street. The emergency access gates between Chamberlain Street & Whalen Road will be open for residents only to use as an alternate route.

I hope that’s not a picture of the actual street sign. The real name of the street is, of course, “Chamberlain Street.” It seems that Hopkinton often ends up with renamed streets because of mistakes when street signs are replaced. I’m sure there are many townies who remember College Rock Road — now College Street; Raftery Road, which became Rafferty Road, and is now known as Legacy Farm North; and Ash Street, which now makes a sharp left-hand turn and continues to the Holliston line, while Chestnut Street abruptly stops where Ash Street makes that left-hand turn.
Whoops, thanks for catching that! I will change it now.
Headline says Sept 9
Thanks, it’s been fixed.
The headline also say September.
If that photo was made with AI, the photo credit should say that.
I didn’t know that; thank you!
