HOPKINTON, Mass. — Hopkinton High School seniors gathered at the high school for the annual Senior Breakfast. This is one of the final school events for the Class of 2026 before graduation. The breakfast gave students a chance to pause before commencement. It also gave faculty and staff a chance to recognize seniors for their contributions to the school community.
A Senior Tradition Before Graduation
The Senior Breakfast is a student-focused event held near the close of the school year. The gathering traditionally includes awards and senior-year logistics, including yearbooks, caps and gowns.
This year’s event came during a busy final week for the Class of 2026. School leaders used the morning to acknowledge student achievement, service and character.
Keep Smilin’ 4 Abbie Awards
Among the recognitions were the Keep Smilin’ 4 Abbie awards. These awards are presented annually to two faculty-nominated graduating seniors at Hopkinton High School.
The foundation gives the awards in memory of Abbie Benford, a Hopkinton student whose life and spirit continue to be honored through the organization’s work. The foundation supports anaphylaxis awareness, education, research and community programs.
The Abbie Benford Keep Smilin’ Award recognizes students who reflect traits associated with Abbie. Those traits include being a reliable friend, thoughtful, empathetic, spirited and able to bring humor to those around them. The recipients, Ellie Power and Andrew Cooper, are shown above.
Principal’s Leadership Award

The Principal’s Leadership Award recognizes a graduating student selected by the principal for exceptional leadership, character and positive contributions to the school community. The Superintendent’s Award recognizes a Hopkinton High School senior for outstanding academic achievement and exemplary citizenship. Presented by the superintendent, the award honors a student who has demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, involvement, social responsibility and respect for others within the school and broader community.
Graduation is scheduled for Friday, June 5
Students, staff and families now turn their attention to commencement. For many seniors, the breakfast served as one of the last shared moments inside Hopkinton High School before the Class of 2026 moves on to its next chapter.
