HopNews Update: Addressing Recent Outage

HopNews has been in various states of disrepair since Friday. We sincerely apologize to our readers for any inconvenience this caused. Your access to local news matters to us, and we did not take this disruption lightly.

What Happened

The site went offline unexpectedly on Friday. We worked quickly to identify the cause. In doing so, we discovered a set of underlying technical issues that made a straightforward fix impractical. Attempting to resolve them in place risked further instability.

How We Resolved It

After evaluating our options and trying various solutions, we decided to restore the site from a stable backup from Friday, March 19th. Then, problems were discovered with the restore, and the hosting site had technical issues. This was truly a case of “when it rains…it pours.” We are very grateful to have the site back now. Some content published between March 19th and the outage may no longer be visible. We are working to recover and republish that material as soon as possible.
