August 1, 2025: Project Update and Anticipated Work
- Comcast: All work is completed except for a few minor tasks. None of the remaining work will interfere with any other utility company’s work.
- AT&T: All work on the project is completed.
- Comm-tract (town fiber network) – Other than relocating a line on one pole, all of their work is completed. The town has requested completion of this task the week of August 4th.
- Verizon: They currently plan to be onsite for a day or two each week; Verizon was notified that this schedule is not acceptable. Town officials will call for more action and escalate the issue to a higher level of management for resolution.
- Verizon provided an estimated 4–6 weeks to complete all of their work if they were committed to full-time, 5 days a week, in Hopkinton.
- Amorello: They have been asked to mobilize in August to complete several tasks on the project not impacted by the utility work.
- Weekly Construction Advisories will resume when there are weekly updates on the project. Until then, the Town will send Project Updates as needed.

I miss downtown, 1985, RIP!
Update: the north/south 85 intersection is still not straight. The bike lane should be removed. The drug store should become an open space park.
Hopkinton Drug is slated to become a 40 apartment complex with retail below. See https://hopnews.com/hop-drug-replacement-proposed/
Who is responsible for the traffic lights in downtown? Whoever is really needs to add sensors to detect extended traffic load on RT 135 and reprogram the timing. Traffic can back up almost to Weston Nurseries and back to Whalen St on the east side. This shouldn’t be that hard to do.
Alan, I forwarded your question to the project managers of the Main Street Project. If they can’t help, maybe they can let us know who can.
There is a ‘nam era expression….
