Agreement Signed for Pulte to
Build 425 More Homes Legacy Farms Road North to be completed by Thanksgiving August 11, 2015 — Roy MacDowell, manager of Legacy Farms, and Reid Blute, Vice-President of Land Acquisition for Pulte Homes announced jointly today that the parties have signed an agreement for Pulte to build 425 homes on the North side of Legacy Farms. The homes will be attached and detached condo-style homes, and will include no single family homes. "We want to minimize competing with ourselves," said Mr. Blute today in the Pulte sales office with Mr. MacDowell. He said new architecture will differentiate the homes from the 275 being built on the South side of the development. "Eventually, people will be selling their homes [on the South side], and we don't want to be selling the same product, only new, on the other side of the street. "We put a lot of work into the developing of the plans. If a design is not functional and livable, people are not going to buy," he said. Mr. MacDowell added that he is about to tear down property at 83 East Main Street, and is seeking a commercial use, such as a restaurant. He also added that Hawthorne Senior Living is progressing well, but there is another 6 acres of land at that site that is also available for use. He said a local restaurant would go well there, too. Mr. Blute said the target for breaking ground on Legacy Farms North is springtime. Neither man would divulge the price of the land, which will be developed in parcels over time. However, if past is prologue, the purchase price will be public record and will be reported on these pages in near real time. NOTE: Photo above is of existing interior of Pulte model home next to sales office. |
