On Friday, August 9, HopNews learned that Hopkinton’s Assistant Town Clerk, Nicole Levay, has resigned, and the town is now seeking a replacement to fulfill her duties.

Levay joined Hopkinton in April 2022, and was a consistent presence at elections and town meetings, helping Town Clerk Connor Degan administer and tabulate elections, hire, train, and schedule volunteer election workers, and maintain the voter rolls.

We thank Nicole for her service to the community and the Town Clerk’s Office and wish her the best of luck with her future endeavors,” said Degan in a written statement.

According to a release from the town’s HR department, the Assistant Town Clerk performs administrative, technical, and professional work providing various types of support to the daily operations of the Town Clerk’s office. The Assistant Town Clerk is also the Acting Town Clerk in Degan’s absence.

    • No one, I’m still here doing remote work when I can to support the community while I take care of my family! I will be in the office more regularly until we find a new Assistant Clerk.
