On Friday, April 28, HopNews and HCAM will host a contested race debate live from HCAM Studios at 7:00 PM. The debate is for a 3-year school committee seat. Two seats are available and three candidates are running; Ashley Fogg, Adam Munroe and Susan Stephenson.

The debate will be moderated by HCAM News Director Tom Nappi and HopNews Editor in-Chief Peter Thomas.

Candidates will be asked to respond to questions on a variety of topics, including school capacity, planned new construction, censorship and political interference in curricula and the fate of the former Center School.

All community members are invited to watch live on HCAM-TV (Comcast: Channel 8, Verizon Channel 30), on HCAM’s YouTube page, or at the embed below. ⬇️

Mr. Munroe is also a candidate for reelection to the Board of Assessors.

  1. Susan Stephenson doesn’t own a home in Hopkinton. She’s not a tax payer. She has been renting here less than a year. She has no children in the Hopkinton schools. The school district she came from has zero diversity. Sorry but she won’t have my vote.

  2. Center School was returned to control of Town Hall when Marathon opened. The School Committee has no oversight over what happens to it from here. With all of the issues facing the schools I really hope this won’t be a topic for this debate. It would be better to ask of the Select Board who have been sitting on this issue for years.

    • Thanks for your comment. You are 100% correct. We’re asking this question to get an idea of each candidate’s perspective on Hopkinton in general – what their larger vision for our town is, for example.
