Past experience in a choir is helpful. Any level of reading music is important to this ensemble. \nThursday\, Sept. 5 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. It is not necessary to bring a prepared piece to sing.

Monies raised support the ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) research of world renowned researcher Dr. Robert Brown\, Jr. at UMass Chan Medical School. \nRegistration begins at 9:00 am with the walk stepping off at 11:00 am. \nWe will walk for those living with ALS for those who lost their courageous battle to the disease. \nWe will provide each team with signage. SUMMARY:Patanjali Ashtanga Yoga Classes
DESCRIPTION:The traditional style of beginner and intermediate yoga will include Asanas (postures)\, Pranayama (breathing techniques)\, Dhyana (meditation) and Yoga Nidra (relaxation techniques). \nThe class is open to all ages 18 and above. No prior yoga experience is needed. Classes will focus on building strength in the core\, balance in the body\, and increasing flexibility and range of motion while incorporating breath awareness and mindfulness techniques. \nBring a yoga/exercise mat and water. Be ready to unwind! \nAbout the teacher: \nNamaste\, my name is Ramya Chiplunkar\, and I got my yoga teacher certification from SVYASA Yoga University in India. I am a software engineer by profession\, and am also pursuing a PhD from Johns Hopkins University. As a single working mom of 2 beautiful girls\, life can get busy\, and I have found my grounding with Yoga and Meditation. Teaching yoga is my way of giving back to the community and sharing my passion. My teaching methodology is rooted in traditional Indian yogic philosophies and emphasizes mindfulness and using breathing techniques with the postures. Yoga to me is a spiritual practice of self-awareness and physical body flexibility is an added benefit.
