SUMMARY:Hopkinton Lions Youth Speech Contest
DESCRIPTION:The Youth Speech Competition provides an opportunity for students to speak publicly and freely on a designated topic of general interest. It starts at the Hopkinton Lions Club level and proceeds through several levels of competition ending several months later with a state-wide competition. In between there are zone\, region\, and district levels of competitions where the winner of each level has the opportunity to proceed to the next level. \nEach contestant will be judged on delivery\, effectiveness and text of speech. This year’s topic is: “With Which Historical Figure Would You Most Like to Speak?” \nPrizes:\n• Hopkinton Lions Club level Winner – $200 / Runner-up – $100\n• Zone\, Region and District levels of competition – at the discretion of District Governor.\n• State Competition level – $1\,500 to the winner and $500 to each runner up. \nTo be eligible:\n• Student must be in 9th\, 10th\, 11th or 12th grade\n• Reside in or attend school in Hopkinton\n• Speech given in English \nTo register for the contest\, email hopkintonlions@gmail.com with the following information:\n• Name\n• School\n• Grade\n• Town of Residence \nFor more information on guidelines and rules\, please visit the Hopkinton Lions website at hopkintonlions.org\, Facebook at @hopkintonlions or lionsyouthspeech.org.
