Boston is an exciting city to visit during the Christmas season. From the festive lights, to the holiday markets, to the classic shopping and the traditional activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy during the holidays.

The streets of Boston are illuminated with thousands of lights during the holidays, creating a magical atmosphere. We surveyed several HopNews readers who have visited Boston recently and we’ve assembled an itinerary with their best picks to take in the festivities. With kids or without, you are sure to make wonderful memories.

Park at Dock Square Garage

Conveniently located near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, Dock Square Garage shares the block with the now-defunct Hard Rock Cafe. Parking here is inexpensive and easy.

Quincy Market

Take a picture in front of the giant Christmas tree outside Quincy Market. Spend a few minutes soaking up the energy of the crowd as they make their way in and out of the shops.

The Holiday Market at SNOWPORT

A 20-minute walk will lead you to the Seaport district, where hundreds of small business have set up for a beautiful holiday market. Browse the shops, try your hand at curling, and look for Betty the Yeti!

Visit the Arch

Head back across the bridge to Christopher Columbus Park near the waterfront. The arch is adorned with lights, and it’s a great spot to snap a photo.

Dinner in the North End

No matter what your holiday traditions are, one thing is for certain – if you’re in Boston during the Christmas season, you should make a point to visit the North End.

The North End is known for its delicious Italian food, with many restaurants offering traditional dishes like lasagna, ravioli, and of course, pizza. But during the holiday season, the North End truly comes alive. The streets are lined with twinkling lights and festive decorations, and the smells of freshly-baked treats waft through the air. The restaurants are full of locals and visitors alike, enjoying traditional Christmas foods like calamari, cannoli, and biscotti. The spirit of the holidays is evident everywhere you look.

Readers suggested Artu, a family owned, authentic Italian restaurant on Prince Street. Save room for dessert … that comes next.

End the night with a canoli

Since you’re already there, you might as well visit Mike’s Pastry. Sure, it’s touristy, but it’s still great on any day.

With its charming atmosphere, Boston is the perfect place to spend the holiday season. We hope you you enjoy it with the ones you love!
