Hopkinton, MA – Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton, Inc. has launched “Building Baypath’s Future,” the largest fundraising campaign in its nearly 50-year history, to build a modern facility on a 50-year lease of land in Hopkinton.

This critical initiative began in 2015 with the goal of securing a long-term lease with the town of Hopkinton. Since then, Baypath has received unwavering support from town leadership, committees, and citizens, raising over $4.2 million toward its $6.5 million goal.

Now in its public phase, the campaign strengthens Baypath’s ability to care for more than 1,000 dogs and cats annually, support local animal control officers, and offer educational programs to the community.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have Hopkinton’s steadfast trust and support for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Elizabeth Jefferis, Executive Director of Baypath Humane Society. “The new facility will enable us to continue serving the community and its animals at the highest level, ensuring that Baypath remains a vital resource for years to come.”

In addition to allowing Baypath to care for more animals, the new shelter will:

• Ensure the highest standards of care for animals
• Expand health and wellness services with dedicated medical space
• Enhance training, education, and community outreach programs

“While Baypath has adopters and supporters across Massachusetts, none of this would be possible without the incredible commitment from the town of Hopkinton,” Jefferis added. “Their partnership has been key to our growth, and this campaign represents the next step in that lasting relationship.”

Founded in 1977, Baypath Humane Society has always been rooted in Hopkinton, and this campaign will ensure it continues to thrive and serve the community for generations to come.
